I have just been accepted onto the SSI’s Advanced Training Scheme. Only 6 or so people are accepted each year for a three year course run by Fellows of the Society – for calligraphers who show promise. The Society of Scribes & Illuminators (SSI) was founded in 1921 by Edward Johnston’s first group of students.

I am very pleased to have been able to join the course. It will entail a lot of work and is rather daunting to be amongst such august people.
